Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for your consults?

Yes. We are a private medical practice and as such our specialists charge for their time. These vary between $315 and $540 for the basic consult.

Is there parking?

Yes. We have limited parking out front and also underground parking. To access the underground parking, please drive between the buildings and on the right hand side of the wall is an intercom.
Press the “Waitemata Specialist Centre” button, we will answer the phone and open the first grill on the right hand side. Our parks are clearly labelled.

Are you affiliated with Southern Cross?

Yes. We will apply to them to cover your consult. However, we do this after the appointment as we do not know if there would be any further charges for a procedure. Please have your membership number handy. If you have insurance with any other provider, you will need to pay for the appointment at the time and send the receipt to your insurer to reimburse.

Do I need a referral?

It is helpful if you have one from your medical provider, however this is not mandatory for most of our specialists. The exception is the Immunologist who needs this to triage the appointments.

Can I do a remote consult?

Yes. We do offer remote consults in certain circumstances. Please discuss this with the medical secretary when the booking is being made.

Do remote consults cost the same?

Yes. The cost is the same as the in-person appointment.

Do you take Credit Cards?

Yes. Amex is excluded.

Can I pay for surgery with a Credit Card?

Yes. However, there is a 2.95% fee added for any procedures over $1000. This is the bank fee that is charged to us.

Note: Nova does not receive any payment from featuring our doctors in their directory. Nova does not make any payments to us – affiliated practices recommend Nova’s services so that more patients can access medical procedures.
